Reptile medicine and surgery: the basics and more!


This day course will cover the approach to the reptile patient in first opinion practice. The day will review husbandry of common species and discussing anaesthesia, analgesia, basic procedures and common medical and surgical conditions.

What's included

The day will be divided into lectures covering the different topics.

The morning will cover husbandry of the most commonly presenting species, as many clinical presentations are associated wtih husbandry deficits, as well as basic techniques in reptile patients.
The afternoon will look at common medical presentations, and the most frequently performed surgical procedures.

The aim of the day is to allow delegates to confidently approach reptile patients, create a differential diagnosis list and be able to perform diagnostics to confirm diagnosis. Surgical procedures will be covered in detail to give confidence in performing common procedures in practice.
