Tortoise medicine and surgery
This day course will consist of lectures covering captive management of tortoises, basic examination, sample collection and common medical and surgical considerations.
The contents of the lectures will cover the approach to a wide range of tortoise cases and is suitable for both vets and nurses in general practice and those already working with tortoises and wanting to develop their knowledge further.

11:11:30 Sample collection and interpretation
11:30-12:30 Hibernation: preparation, completion and relevance to health
12:30-13:00 Buffet lunch
13:00-13:45 Respiratory disease, imaging and treatment
13:45-14:45 Reproductive disease and surgical approaches
15:00-16:00 Common medical conditions and their care
16:00-16:30 Case discussions/open session
